Application & Handling

1. Surface preparation. Ensure the stone is completely clean, structurally sound, dry, and free of dust, grease, wax, previous coatings, or efflorescence. Clean with a neutral pH stone cleaner and allow it to dry thoroughly. The stone must be dry internally, not merely surface-dry. Internal moisture impedes penetration and can cause cloudy patches.

2. Application. Apply MARMOBARRIER-PLUS evenly and generously using a clean paintbrush, lint-free microfiber roller, or low-pressure sprayer. Work evenly across the slab for consistent capillary uptake and uniform colour enrichment. For highly porous stones (unpolished limestone or sandstone), a second coat may be applied after 15–20 minutes while the surface remains receptive. Wipe off unabsorbed product within 15–20 minutes using clean, dry microfiber cloths to avoid sticky residue or uneven hazing.

3. Drying and curing. Touch dry within 1–2 hours depending on ambient temperature and relative humidity. Full stain repellency, colour development, and chemical curing are achieved after 24 hours.

4. Coverage. Varies with porosity: low-porosity stones (polished granite, dense marble) up to 10 m²/L; medium-porosity stones (honed limestone, travertine) 5–7 m²/L; high-porosity stones (sandstone, unpolished natural stone) as low as 3 m²/L.
