MARMOSHINE-POWDER is a premium high-gloss wet crystallization and densification powder specially formulated for the professional restoration, polishing, and maintenance of marble, terrazzo, limestone, and other calcareous stone floors. Its advanced reactive chemistry initiates a thermo-chemical reaction with the calcium carbonate (calcite) present in natural calcareous stone, converting the microscopic surface layer into a dense, vitrified calcium fluorosilicate micro-barrier. This process produces an extraordinary deep, mirror-like gloss with dramatically enhanced wear resistance, superior surface density, reduced porosity, and long-lasting brilliance. Designed for low-residue performance and effortless machine application using single-disc floor polishers, MARMOSHINE-POWDER hardens the stone against heavy commercial foot traffic, micro-abrasions, and everyday staining, providing an enduring showroom shine without artificial plastic wax films.

Application & Handling

Substrate Suitability & Preparation Compatible Substrates: Calcareous natural stones containing calcium carbonate, including Italian marble, Indian marble, limestone, travertine, agglomerate marble, and cementitious terrazzo. STRICT PROHIBITION: Do NOT apply on granite, quartz, quartzite, sandstone, slate, ceramic, vitrified porcelain, or other siliceous/acid-resistant stones, as they lack calcium carbonate and will not react chemically. Ensure the floor is structurally sound, clean, completely dry, and free of dirt, grease, old wax residues, acrylic sealers, or coatings. Honing Requirement: If the stone floor has heavy scratches, etching, or uneven lippage, hone the surface up to 400–800 grit diamond pads prior to crystallization.

Slurry Preparation & Proportioning Work in small, manageable sections (typically 2 to 4 m² at a time). Sprinkle a small quantity of MARMOSHINE-POWDER (approximately 20 to 30 g/m²) evenly onto the stone floor. Add a small amount of clean water (or Marmo Shine Liquid diluted with water) to create a workable, creamy slurry consistency. Avoid using excessive water, which dilutes the active chemistry and slows the reaction.

Machine Crystallization & Buffing Fit a commercial single-disc floor polishing machine (150–175 RPM, 40–55 kg) with an appropriate crystallization pad (such as a steel wool pad #0 or #1, or a red/white synthetic crystallization pad). Operate the machine over the slurry in overlapping passes (north-south, then east-west) to distribute the slurry evenly and generate the necessary frictional heat. Continue machine polishing until the chemical reaction occurs, gloss develops, and the slurry begins to dry into a thin paste. Do NOT allow the slurry to dry completely under the pad without machine movement, as friction heat on dry residue can cause pad marks.

Cleaning & Final Neutralization Immediately after achieving the desired gloss, add a splash of clean water to re-liquefy the slurry paste. Pick up all slurry residues thoroughly using a wet-vacuum or microfiber squeegee mop. Rinse the floor completely with clean water (optionally neutralized with a mild dilution of MARMOCLEANER-MILD) to remove all chemical traces. Allow the floor to dry completely. Perform a final dry buff with a clean white polishing pad to maximize depth, specular reflection, and brilliance.

Do’s

  • Ensure the stone floor is clean, dry, and properly honed before crystallization.
  • Use clean potable water during the crystallization and rinsing process.
  • Apply using a weighted single-disc floor polishing machine (150–175 RPM).
  • Work systematically in small, manageable sections (2–4 m²).
  • Remove slurry residues completely immediately after polishing.
  • Perform a trial patch on a small inconspicuous area before treating sensitive decorative stones.
  • Use appropriate polishing pads recommended for wet crystallization.
  • Wear suitable PPE (gloves, safety goggles, protective clothing, dust mask during powder handling).
  • Keep containers tightly sealed in a cool, dry place.

Don’ts

  • Do NOT apply on granite, quartz, sandstone, slate, or other siliceous stones.
  • Do NOT allow the slurry to dry completely on the stone before machine polishing is completed.
  • Do NOT use excessive water during application, which impairs the chemical reaction.
  • Do NOT leave crystallization slurry residues on the floor after treatment.
  • Do NOT mix MARMOSHINE-POWDER with other incompatible polishing chemicals, bleach, or solvent strippers.
  • Do NOT apply over existing waxes, acrylic coatings, or topical sealers without prior mechanical stripping.
  • Do NOT use on acid-sensitive decorative accents without prior compatibility testing.
  • Do NOT inhale dust/powder during dispensing or handling.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is MARMOSHINE-POWDER?
MARMOSHINE-POWDER is a professional-grade wet crystallization and surface densification powder designed to chemically polish, restore, and harden marble and calcareous stone floors.

2. How does chemical crystallization work?
Under the frictional heat and mechanical action of a single-disc machine, the acidic active compounds in MARMOSHINE-POWDER chemically react with the calcium carbonate in the marble, forming a hard, dense, vitrified micro-layer of calcium fluorosilicates.

3. How does MARMOSHINE-POWDER differ from topical waxes?
Unlike waxes that form a soft, temporary surface film that scuffs and requires frequent stripping, MARMOSHINE-POWDER chemically alters and densifies the stone's upper crystalline structure, providing permanent gloss and hardness without yellowing.

4. Can MARMOSHINE-POWDER be used on granite?
No. Granite is a siliceous stone composed primarily of quartz and feldspar and contains virtually no calcium carbonate. The crystallization reaction will not occur on granite.

5. Which stone types are suitable for MARMOSHINE-POWDER?
It is suitable for all calcareous stones containing calcium carbonate, including Italian marble, Indian marble, travertine, limestone, and cement-based terrazzo.

6. What machine is recommended for application?
Use a heavy standard single-disc floor polishing machine (150–175 RPM, weighing between 40 and 55 kg) fitted with a drive disc and crystallization pad.

7. What type of polishing pad should be used?
Use steel wool pads (grade #0 or #1) or high-density synthetic crystallization pads (such as red or white polishing pads).

8. Why must the floor be honed prior to crystallization?
Crystallization enhances gloss but does not remove deep physical scratches or lippage. Honing up to 400 or 800 diamond grit creates a flat, smooth foundation necessary for uniform reflection.

9. What is the coverage rate of MARMOSHINE-POWDER?
One kilogram covers approximately 30 to 50 m², depending on the stone type, porosity, and initial surface condition.

10. Why should work be done in small sections (2–4 m²)?
Working in small sections ensures proper control over slurry moisture, prevents premature drying, and allows even frictional heat distribution across the floor.

11. What happens if the slurry dries out under the pad?
If the slurry dries completely during machine agitation, the friction can burn the stone, leave pad swirl marks, or make residue removal difficult. Add a few drops of water to keep the slurry workable.

12. How should slurry residues be cleaned after polishing?
Immediately vacuum or squeegee up the slurry using clean water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water or a neutral stone cleaner like MARMOCLEANER-MILD to neutralize any acidic residue.

13. Does MARMOSHINE-POWDER improve stain resistance?
Yes. By densifying the stone and shrinking microscopic capillary pores, it substantially reduces the absorption rate of water, oil, and liquid stains.

14. Does MARMOSHINE-POWDER increase surface hardness?
Yes. The vitrified micro-layer created by crystallization is significantly harder than untreated marble, providing superior scratch and wear resistance under foot traffic.

15. What is the pH level of MARMOSHINE-POWDER in slurry form?
The slurry has an acidic pH, which is necessary to initiate the chemical reaction with the alkaline calcium carbonate in the stone.

16. How should crystallized marble floors be maintained daily?
Maintain crystallized floors with routine dry dust mopping and damp mopping using pH-neutral cleaners like MARMOCLEANER-MILD. Never use acidic or harsh alkaline cleaners.

17. Can MARMOSHINE-POWDER be used in outdoor areas?
It is primarily formulated for interior floors. While it withstands foot traffic, outdoor marble exposed to direct rainwater and UV is better protected with penetrating sealers like MARMOSEAL-W.

18. What packaging size is available?
MARMOSHINE-POWDER is packaged in standard 1 Kg containers.

19. What is the shelf life of MARMOSHINE-POWDER?
It has a shelf life of 24 months in original, unopened packaging stored between +10°C and +35°C in dry conditions.
